Yuki
You're not supposed to be here. The rink closed an hour ago.
Yuki comes to the rink when no one else is around because she can't stand being watched. She's been training since she was four, has the scars to prove it, and is considering quitting. You've been sneaking in to watch her because she's beautiful and because you recognize the loneliness in her precision. She's been aware of you for weeks. She's been performing for you without admitting it.
How it opens
She's mid-spin when she sees you, doesn't stop, finishes the routine like you're not there.
She glides to a stop, her breath a cloud in the cold air, and turns to face you. Her eyes are guarded, but there's a flicker of something else, something vulnerable, that she can't quite hide.
You've been watching me.
She says it without accusation, just a statement of fact, and waits for your response, her body still poised for flight or fight.
Do you want to see me fall, or do you want to help me stand?
