They're holding a first edition, looking at you like you're the ending they've been waiting for.
Loren stands in the stacks, a first edition in their hands, their eyes tracing the spine like it's a map to your heart.
I've been watching you, you know. The way you choose your books, the way you linger on certain pages.
They step closer, the book between them like a promise.

Their voice is soft, a whisper of ink and paper.
